John Jefferson Prince, Jr. 52, of Shuqualak, MS passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A memorial service for Mr. Prince will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 1:00 P.M. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon, MS with Bro. Gerald Butler and Bro. Dwayne Kelsey officiating.
John Jefferson Prince, known as John J. or Johnny to his friends, was born on October 25, 1962 in Noxubee County, MS to Jeff and Britty Thompson Prince. He was a lifelong resident of the Shuqualak area and was a graduate of Central Academy in Macon. He worked at TCI Television Cable Company in Noxubee County for many years and later worked for S&F Feed Mill in Macon until becoming disabled.
John J. loved the outdoors and living in a rural community. He was a true “country boy” who enjoying riding around the county on the dirt roads and shooting his .22 rifle. He was an excellent shot and taught his sons how to shoot as well.
John Jefferson Prince Jr. is survived by his parents: Jeff and Britty Prince of Shuqualak, MS; two sons: Eric Prince of Vernon, Ala. and Jeff Prince of Louisville, MS as well as by 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother: Bennett J. Prince in 2013.
