John C. Jost, 71, of Brooksville, MS died Friday, February 27, 2015, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Brook Haven Mennonite Church, 7361 Hwy 388, Brooksville MS. Ministers Gladwin Koehn, Galen Schmidt and Arlan Yost will be officiating. Burials will be in the Brooksville Mennonite Church cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:30 until 8:30 at Brook Haven Mennonite Church. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Manor, P.O. Box 325, Brooksville, MS 39739.
Mr. Jost was born in Goessel, Kansas on June 22, 1943 to the late John M and Hulda Hiebert Jost. He received his schooling at Pleasant View County School, Marion County, KS. Mr. Jost was involved in agriculture, both growing catfish, and raising grain crops. He was a member of the Brook Haven Mennonite Church. He, with his wife, has served in the literature distribution program of the church.
His parents and step-mother, one brother-in-law, one niece and one nephew preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, Brooksville, MS; sons, Kendall Jost, Brooksville, MS and Jonathon Jost, Bradley, AR; daughters, Karla Wenger, Macon, MS and Sondra Koehn, Hatley, TX; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; three brothers, Gladwin Jost, Hesston, KS, Glenn Jost , Valley Center, KS, Monroe Jost, Lewisville, TX, and three sisters, Jenette Koehn, Burns, KS, Pearl Ensz, Inman, KS, and Kathy Ensz, Hartley TX.
