Billy Mack, 71, of Macon, Mississippi passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. A Graveside service will be held
Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Oddfellows Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Any memorials may be made to Cockrell Funeral Home c/o Billy Mack Fund, P.O. Box 499 Macon, MS 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.
Billy was born November 9, 1943 to Barbara Strange Mack and the late Woodrow Wilson Mack in Missouri. He moved to Macon in 1963. He served in the USMC for four years and four months having served in the Vietnam War. He began working at Macon Pants Factory after returning from the war. He also worked for Red Kap as a sewing machine mechanic. In his later life, he worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and collecting knives and guns. He is preceded in death by his father, brothers Steve, Charlie, and Joe Mack and sisters, Shirley and Ruthie Jane Mack.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara S. Mack of West Point, MS; daughter, Nicole Mack Jones of Macon, MS; a son, Brandon Mack of Macon, MS; four sisters, Sharon Hanes of Louisville, MS; Nancy Backfish of Elmo, Missouri, Cindy Whitehead of West Point, MS; and Terry Flores of Columbus, MS; a brother, Dennis Berry of Missouri; and 6 grandchildren.
