Mrs. Anna Mae Mast, 82, of Macon, MS passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. Her funeral service will be held at Magnolia Mennonite Church in Macon on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Paul Shirk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 24 at the church from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Christian Aid Ministries, Sponsor-a-Child School Program P.O. Mrs. Mast was born in Elkhart County, Indiana on December 16, 1931 to the late David D. and Susie Miller Troyer. She was a devout Christian, having accepted Christ as her Savior as a youth and was a longtime member of the Magnolia Mennonite Church. She was a housewife and homemaker who also labored alongside her husband in their family-owned dairy and grain farming operation. She served many hours with her husband on the Mennonite Disaster Services, an organization that aids those who have suffered catastrophic property loss at the hands of natural disaster. Mrs. Mast was renowned for her cooking abilities and, being given a servant’s heart, she opened her table to friends as well as family at all times. She served many meals with guests present, even as recently as two weeks before her death. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful grandmother who was well loved by all her grandchildren and she took much interest in them and loved nurturing them.
Mrs. Mast is survived by her husband: Ottis U. Mast of Macon, MS and by five children: Glenn (Maggie) Mast of Crawford, MS; Carolyn (Don) Miller of Goshen, IN; Rosetta (Daniel) Petre and Ernest (Lois Ann) Mast of Macon, MS; and Cheryl (John) Mullet of Brooksville, MS and by one daughter-in-law: Joyce (John) Miller of Brooksville, MS. Also left to mourn her passing are 32 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren as well as one sister: Edna (Mel) Shetler of Goshen, IN and two brothers: Harley (Betty) Troyer of Goshen, IN. and Edwin (Fern) Troyer of Constantine, MI. Mrs. Mast was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Lydia Marie (Elmer) Mast and four brothers: Leroy (Faye) Troyer, David (Mary) Troyer, Jr., Harvey Troyer and Melvin Troyer. She was also preceded in death by one son: Otis Elwayne Mast as well as by three grandchildren and one great-grand-child.
