Mrs. Christine C. Heath, 88, of Macon passed away at Elderly Care Center of Macon on Monday, October 20, 2014. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon. Bro. Jim Garner will officiate at the services. Interment will immediately follow in the family plot at Brooksville Cemetery. Public visitation will take place from 2:00 P.M. until service time Wednesday. Any memorials may be made to the

Christine C. Heath was born on May 19, 1926 to the late Nancy Day Cockrell and Mose A. Cockrell in Electric Mills, MS. She grew up in the Yellow Creek Community of Noxubee County and graduated from the Mashulaville Agricultural High School. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Verle Heath and they made their home in the McLeod Chapel community of Noxubee County. She was a housewife and homemaker for most of her life, but later in her life she worked as a CNA at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS and later at Elderly Care Center in Macon. She was a longtime member of McLeod Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. While Mrs. Christine had many hobbies and past-times, above all else she enjoyed raising cattle.
Mrs. Christine was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her two daughters: Nancy (Dwaine) Taylor of Cascilla, MS and Jean (Bobby) Putt of Macon, MS. She also leaves to mourn her passing a grand-daughter: Mary Clair (Chris) Ford of West Point, MS; 2 Great-grandsons: Heath and Kyle Ford; one step-grand-daughter: Demetria Raper and one step-grandson: Dr. Hugh Taylor and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
