Prentiss Wayne Bolin, Sr. passed away on Friday October 3, 2014 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, Ms. at the age of 75. Services are on Monday October 6 at 2:00 pm at Brooksville Baptist Church in Brooksville, Ms. with Rev. Jay Spiller and Rev. Payton Myers presiding. Burial will follow at Brooksville Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Brooksville Baptist. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Bolin was born on Saturday October 15, 1938 in Artesia, Ms. to the late Frank Norris and Mary Price Bolin. He was employed early in his career with the GM&O railroad for several years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Artesia Methodist Church and later attended Brooksville Baptist while his health permitted. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Rhonda, granddaughter Caitlin and brothers Robert and Marshall Bolin. He is survived by his wife Judy of Brooksville, Ms. and three children, Printz Bolin (Kimberly) of McLean, Va., Tammy Weber (Lee) of Austin Tx., and Jay Bolin (Liz) of Madison, Ms. and a brother Virgil (Ruby Lynn) of Starkville, Ms. and sister in law Mildred Bolin of Artesia, Ms.
Grandchildren Claire and McCall Weber of Austin, Tx., Tripp and Miles Bolin of McLean, Va., Amy Oxford of Austin, Tx. and Matthew Weber of Boerne, Tx. also survive him.
He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and was passionate about his beloved Boston Red Sox. The family would like to thank the many friends who helped him along the way and the medical professionals who provided him such great care over these last few years and especially his caregivers, JoAnn Goldman, Annie Harris, and Lola Hill. Memorials may be made to Brooksville Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
Pallbearers are Keith Hancock, Walter “Bubba” Hines, Vance Taylor, Les Unruh, Parker Pugh, Tripp Bolin and Miles Bolin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Richardson, Bill Wilkins, Sonny Kesler, Pointer Hall, T.C. Glover, Johnny Heard, Jack Weseli, Gilbert Dale Buchanan, Josie Fannon and the Brooksville Police Department.
