Mrs. Beulah Morris King, 96, of Brooksville, Ms passed away on June 2, 2014 in Corinth, MS. She was born in Mississippi on August 8, 1917 to the late Mabry Milton and Maybell Upton Morris. She was married to the late M.M. “Bud” King and lived in the Cliftonville community of Noxubee County all of her life. She was very active in the local activities in her community and in the New Bethel Church there. She was an avid reader and was a longtime member of the Brooksville Library Board. Mrs. Beulah was a skilled seamstress who won many awards, both county and state, for her efforts. She was also a wonderful cook whose specialties included fried chicken, rolls, and caramel cake and whose welcoming table always had room for extra plates for unexpected guests. Mrs. Beulah loved all of her family and they, along with her faith and her friends, formed the nucleus of her life.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon with Bro. Glen Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Brooksville Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. King is survived by her daughters, Connie King Wiseman of Casper, WY and Hilda King LeGoff of Corinth, MS; sons: Raymond King of Naples, Fla. and John King of Brooksville, MS. She also leaves to morn her passing 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by by one sister: Nell Wilson of Springville, Utah.. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter: Judith King Autry and one son: M.M. “Cotton” King as well as by one brother: M.B. Morris and two sisters: Annie Connley and Adeliah Childs.
