Mrs. Florence R. Smith, 87, of Brooksville, Ms passed away Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Noxubee General Hospital in  Macon, MS. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. from Brooksville Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be made to the BEMP Cemetery Fund, c/o Melanie Hines, 586 Hines Rd Brooksville,  MS  39739. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born on June 17, 1926 to the late William and Florence Charlton Rutledge. She was a graduate of EMJC. She worked as a bookkeeper for Delta Macon Brick and Tile Co and Noxubee General Hospital for a number of years. She and her husband, Wade Smith, Jr. owned and operated Five Point Service Station in Brooksville, MS until they retired.  She was a member of Brooksville Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, and visiting with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a brother.

She is survived by two brothers Davis Rutledge of Sims, AL and Roy Rutledge of Grand Bay, AL. and numerous nieces and nephews.
