Johnny C. Burns

John C.” Johnny “Burns, 61 passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Canton Manor Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon with Bro. Sean Greer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 10:45 AM Saturday at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel.
Johnny Burns was born on April 1, 1951 in Macon, MS to the late John Jackson and Eula Elizabeth Jones Burns. He attended Macon Attendance Center. He worked at various jobs around Macon including farming and yard work and for a time was employed at Tem’s Food Mart. Johnny Burns was a member of First Pentecostal Church. He lived most of his life in Macon until poor health forced him into the nursing home. He is described by his niece as a “great baby-sitter and uncle” as he cared for her when she was young. He is survived by one step-sister: Cassie Lane of Florida and by several nieces and nephews.
