Mrs. Ruth Boydstun Von Kohn, 89, passed away on January 5, 2014 at Emeritus Nursing Home in Oxford, MS. Mrs. Von Kohn was a native of Winston County, MS and was a longtime resident of Macon. She was the daughter of the late John and Lena Jackson Boydstun. She was a graduate of Mashulaville High School and East Miss Junior College and worked at Richardson Wholesale in Louisville, MS as a book-keeper for eight years. On Christmas Day, 1946 Ruth married the love of her life, Randolph Von Kohn. She was a housewife and homemaker and was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Macon where she served as the book-keeper for Christian Training and Missionary Fellowship. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, crocheting and other handwork activities. Mrs. Von Kohn is preceded in death by her husband; one son: Harry Thomas Von Kohn; two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter: Beth Thompson of Georgetown, KY; one son: Randy Von Kohn of Oxford, MS; two grandchildren and two sisters: Elizabeth Bagwell of Bruce, MS and Agnes Worrell of Ackerman, MS.
The funeral services for Ruth B. Von Kohn will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Interment will follow in Mashulaville Cemetery near Macon. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family requests no flowers be sent, please. Memorials are requested to go to Christian Training and Missionary Fellowship 442 Sugg Street Madisonville KY 42431.
