Lydia Marie Mast, 83, of Macon, MS passed away at her home on December 31, 2013, following a long illness. She was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer eleven years ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Magnolia Mennonite Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Friday January 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Magnolia Mennonite School.
She was born Feb. 12, 1930 to David and Susie Troyer in Goshen, Indiana. On October 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Elmer U. Mast. In 1960, they moved to Macon, Mississippi from White Pigeon, Michigan. She was Magnolia Mennonite Church in Macon. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts for her family and church sewing projects.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; 5 children, DeWayne (Linda) Mast of Harrisburg, OR.; Joanna (John) Mast of Macon, MS.; Mervin (Linda) Mast of Rustburg, VA; Sharon (William) Wald of Wrightsville, GA; Melvin (Phyllis) Mast of Dillwyn, VA; daughter-in-law Cynthia (Jerry) Yoder of Jackson, NC; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Anna Mae Mast of Macon, MS, Edna Shetler of Goshen, IN; 2 brothers, Harley Troyer of Goshen, IN; Edwin Troyer of Constantine, MI.
She is preceded in death by her son Paul David; her parents, David and Susie Troyer; step-father Isaac Helmuth; 4 brothers, Leroy, David, Harvey and Melvin Troyer.
