Mr. John S. Adcock passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko, MS . Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Coy United Methodist Church near Preston, MS. with Rev. Creighton White officiating. Interment will be in the Coy Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10-11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Coy United Methodist Church, 55 Coy Church Rd., Preston, MS 39354. Mr. Adcock was born on April 14, 1927 to the late Jesse Clinton and Minnie Mae Barnes Adcock in Winston County, MS. He attended school in Winston County. He married Anita McDonald on September 2, 1950 and they moved to Macon, MS. where they made their home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Macon where he served as Street Superintendent for the City of Macon. After his retirement from the city, he worked in sales at Senter’s Hardware and Appliance in Macon for a number of years. He was a longtime member of Coy United Methodist Church near Preston, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Mark Adcock and siblings, Euart Adcock, Gladys Burrage, Shirley Clay, Jewell Clay, Peggy Kemp and James Adcock.

Survivors include his son, Kendall and wife Diane of Madison, MS., and three grandchildren, Jonathan Adcock, Benjamin Adcock and fiancé, Meagan Kinsley and Christopher Adcock.
