Claude Wood

Mr. Claude Wood, 71, of Jackson, MS passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. A graveside service will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, MS on Friday, May 24 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Ricky Glenn officiating. There will be no public visitation. The family requests any memorials to be made to Palmer Home for Children P.O. Box 746 Columbus, MS 39703 or to Bethany Christian Services 116 Lawrence Drive #3 Columbus, MS 39701. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.
Claude Harrison Wood was born on September 13, 1941 to the late Walker and Ida Christine Johnson Wood. He grew up in Greenwood, MS where he graduated from Greenwood High School. He attended Mississippi Delta Junior College, the University of Mississippi, and Mississippi College. He was employed with the Mississippi State Tax Commission for many years and later owned and operated Ridgeland Auto until his retirement. Mr. Wood was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother: John Richard (Sonny) Wood
Mr. Wood is survived by his 2 sisters: Barbara Wood Radant (Doug) of Collierville,TN and Betty Wood (Bill) Bell of Macon, MS as well as by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
