Mrs. Coleen Kiess Stottlemire, 52, of Shuqualak, MS passed away at her residence on Friday, April 26, 2013. A Memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Macon, MS on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Greg Duncan and Bro. Jeff Martin officiating. Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. The family requests NO FLOWERS, please; all memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Operation Christmas Child, 105 Dent St., Macon, MS 39341. Coleen, also known as Cokie to her family and friends, was born on April 12, 1961 in Las Vegas, NV. to the late Terry Douglas and Patricia Adaline Lindsay Kiess. She was a graduate of Tucumcari High School and of East New Mexico University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. On October 17, 1987, she married Wayne Stottlemire. In 1993, they moved to Noxubee County where both she and her husband worked at EN Trucking Company for a short time. She then went to work with the Noxubee County Chamber of Commerce and then later for the Noxubee County Economic Development Authority. At the time of her death, she was the manager of the Noxubee Civic Center. She was very active and involved in civic affairs including Noxubee County Relay for Life, Mainstreet Macon Committee and the Noxubee chapter of the Mississippi Homemakers Volunteers. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant having served as church secretary and mission committee chairman with an emphasis on Honduran missions. She was also involved with Children’s Ministry where she taught Children’s Sunday school and also helped with the nursery program. Her true missionary passion was Operation Christmas Child. She shopped throughout the year to fill shoe boxes for children in need through the OCC gifting program.
Survivors include her spouse, Wayne Stottlemire of Shuqualak, MS; sister, Shawnda Gallagher of Westminster, CO; brother, Michael Kiess of Aurora, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Jodi Prewitt.
