Anne E. Cockrell, 87, of Clinton, MS passed away peacefully on her birthday, Sunday, January 27, 2013. Miss Cockrell, the daughter of the late Julian F. and Iona Cockrell, was a Brooksville MS native and a graduate of Brooksville High School. She furthered her education at King’s Daughters School of Nursing and Anesthesia and went on to be the Department Head of Anesthesia at Sacred Heart Hospital in Gulf Breeze, FLA. She was a longtime member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and had lived in the Gulf Breeze area until ill health had forced her to move to Clinton to be near her family.
She is survived by her two sisters: Sweetnin Russell of Columbus, MS and Jean Lavender of Clinton, MS.

Anne E. Cockrell’s funeral service will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon, MS on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Russell Mord officiating. A period of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Per family request, any memorials should to be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl.17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633 or to the Soule Chapel Cemetery Fund C/O Robbie Taylor 3076 Crawford Rd. Crawford, MS 39743.
