Allene Langford Jourdan

Mrs. Allene Langford Jourdan, 84, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Brooksville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in
Brooksville Cemetery. Tyler Higginbotham will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Mrs. Jourdan was a native of Hickory Grove, MS and was born October 4, 1927 to the late Willis Jefferson Langford and Lizzy Odell Cummings Langford . She was a graduate of Artesia High School. She moved t Brooksville when she married J.W. Jourdan. She was an active member of Brooksville Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, and wonderful cook. She helped her husband with their farm until he retired. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Alice Jourdan Williams and Betty Jane Jourdan, sisters, Sarah Bourdan, Louise Fulgham, and Zora Wilkerson, and two brothers, Charles and George Langford.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Jourdan of Birmingham, AL and Larry Jourdan of Brooksville, Ms.;
Ten grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Also , left to mourn her loss is a brother Leo Langford of West Point, MS. and three sisters-in law, Clara Kemp of Brooksville, MS.,, Hazel White and Earline Howell both of Starkville, MS.
