Thomas Edward Maury

Thomas Edward Maury, 59, husband of Patricia Ann Lenon Maury and father of Rachel Kittrell Maury, longtime associate at Service Specialists LTD, passed away on May 30. He was a resident of Jackson.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Jackson from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, which will be Mr. Maury’s 60th birthday. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Macon. Visitation prior to the service will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon.
Mr. Maury was born on June 3, 1952, in Macon, MS to Selma Virginia Burns and Joseph Shelton Maury. He grew up in Macon and graduated from Noxubee County High School. He was a graduate of East Mississippi Community.
Mr. Maury lived in Columbus, MS where he worked for Rice Insurance Agency then moved to Hartford, CT where he worked for Aetna Insurance Company.
He later moved back to Columbus where he reunited with the love of his life Trish. They were married on April 30, 1988 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Macon. They began their life together in Jackson and their daughter, Rachel, was born on Feb. 5, 1990.
Mr. Maury shared his love of entertaining with family and friends, and he and Trish headed pastoral care at St. James Episcopal Church for several years. He was a gifted gardener, cook, and a good friend to many. He was active in the Northpointe Homeowners Association as well.
He is survived by wife, Patricia, daughter, Rachel, his father, Joseph Shelton Maury of Macon; brother, Joseph “Bub” Shelton Maury Jr. of Macon; cousin, Lucy Baessler and her husband, Rick, and their son, Richard, all of Durant.
