Elsie Triplett Pugh

Mrs. Elsie Triplett Pugh, 82, of Oxford Mississippi, formerly of Macon, Ms, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Oxford at Azalea Gardens Assisted Living. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, March 15, at 1:30 p.m. from graveside at Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, MS. Dr. Bill K. Duncan will officiate the service. The family will receive friends after the service at Brooksville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to Noxubee County Nursing Home, P.O. Box 480, Macon, MS 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home Inc. of Macon, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Pugh, a native and longtime resident of Noxubee County, MS, was born in Brooksville, MS on August 9, 1929 to the late William Bates and Mary Austin Triplett. Mrs. Pugh was a graduate of Brooksville High School. She married Dr. Glen Pugh while he was pursuing his medical degree at the University of Mississippi. They moved to Jackson while he completed his internship and in 1965, they moved to Macon where they made their home. She lived in Macon until ill health forced her to move to Oxford to be near her daughter where she resided until her death. While she was a resident of Macon she was a member of First Baptist Church, Macon. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was a member of the Holiday Club and Town and Country Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Dr. Glen O. Pugh, and brother William Bates Triplett, Jr.

Mrs. Pugh is survived by her two daughters: Cecile (Bill) Zieren of Oxford, MS and Gail (Mike) Patterson of Birmingham, AL. , one son: Olen Pugh of Brooksville, MS., brother, Reuben Triplett of Montevallo, AL, six grandchildren, Dr. Ben Zieren(Erin) of Jackson, MS, Jon Zieren (Jeannie) of Oxford, Amy Hann (Chris) of Birmingham, AL, Kim Woods of Macon, MS, Heather Mason (Chris) of Meridian, MS and Jaimee Lee ( Stephen) of Atlanta, GA. and 5 great grandchildren.
