Mrs. Phyfa Dinsmore, 93, of Macon, MS passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. Her funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon, MS. with Dr. Andy Pearson and Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Central Academy, P.O. Mrs. Dinsmore was a Kemper County native, born on August 13, 1918 to the late William Elbert and Harriet Richardson Franklin. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and later attended Rush Infirmary Nursing training. She was a registered nurse at South Pickens Hospital in Aliceville, Ala and also at Noxubee General Hospital. She was a longtime resident of Noxubee County where she was a member of Macon Presbyterian Church. She was married to the late James S. Dinsmore, Sr. and was a beloved mother and grandmother who was always willing to help her family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Alice Ruth Dinsmore; sister: Ethel Tatum; and two brothers, Paul Franklin and W.H. Franklin.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyfa Dinsmore Eiland of Clinton, MS; and her two sons: James S. Dinsmore, Jr. and Robert Augustus (Gus) Dinsmore, both of Macon, MS.; as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
