Hudson Eugene Denton, Sr.

Mr. Hudson Eugene Denton, Sr. 79, passed away at his residence on Friday December 29, 2011. His funeral service will be held at graveside at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Salem Cemetery near Macon, MS. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is entrusted with the care of the arrangements. Any memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Mr. Denton was born in Noxubee County on Aug. 9, 1932 to the late Thomas Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Finch Denton and grew up near Macon. He attended the Salem Community School and was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army, with which he served two years. He lived near Columbus, Ms. and was a retail business owner most of his life. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and raising miniature horses. He enjoyed life. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by two daughters: Debbie Williams of Little Rock, Ark. and Cathy Forrester of Canton, MS. as well as by two sons: Hudson Denton, Jr. of Columbus, MS and Harold Denton of Steens, MS. He is also survived by one brother: George Edward Denton of Columbus, MS. ; six grand children, 2 great-grand children, and five step great-grandchildren.
