Amos Tim Richards, 80, of Mashulaville, MS passed away Tuesday October 4, 2011 at Care Center of Louisville, Ms. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Mashulaville Baptist Church at
2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mashulaville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 until service time. Memorials may be made through www.homesforourtroops.org.
Mr. Richards was born in Mashulaville, MS on Nov 23, 1930 to the late R Weber and Alma Pearl Otis Richards. He graduated from Mashulaville Agricultural l School. Mr. Richards entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After the war, he returned to Mississippi but moved to Houston, Texas in 1953 and lived there until he retired. In 1991 he moved to Lake Toledo Bend, LA. In 2007 he moved back to Mashulaville. He worked as a welder at Worldwide Welding and Press in Houston, TX for thirty years. He was a member of Mashulaville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and road trips. He was an “All American Boy”. He could make anything grow and enjoyed his blooming flowers.
Survivors include his wife Ann Richards of Louisville, MS, 2 daughters, Rebecca Richards of Austin, TX and Amy Read of Winter Haven, Fla.; 2 grandchildren Sarah and Tim Read. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rod Richards and Eudell Richards and a sister Jeanette Brunley.
