Christine G. Butler

Mrs. Christine G. Butler, 93, of Shuqualak died October 2, 2011 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Shuqualak Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Academy, P.O. Box 231, Macon, Ms 39341 or the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Butler was born in Winston County, MS where she attended schools. She married Joe Butler who precedes her in death. She worked at the Macon Pants Factory for over 30 years until she retired. She was a member of Shuqualak Baptist Church. Mrs. Butler was an avid seamstress and gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Lollice Higginbotham Goodin; two sisters, Lessie Adcock, Cornelia Rivers, and two brothers, Wilson and Collins Goodin.

Her survivors include her two daughters: Shirley Sciple and her husband Ronald of Shuqualak, Ms, Ann Lanier of Gulfport, MS; a son, Mike Butler and wife Edie of Shuqualak, MS; brother Randolph Goodin of Brooksville, MS; six grandchildren, Christy Burks, Lisa Lanier, Joey Cooper, Rusty Lanier, Ronnie Sciple, and Clint Butler; and 11 great grandchildren.
