Mrs. Shirley Elvira Conner Rogers, 74, of Shuqualak, MS died Thursday September 1, 2011 at Louisville Health Care in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 from Vernon Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Earl Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery fund, c/o Annette Taylor, 3538 County Line Rd, Preston, MS 39354.
Mrs. Rogers was a native and lifetime resident of Noxubee County. She was born May 2, 1937. She was married to Frank E. Rogers who precedes her in death. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Flora G White and Audrey B Thomas and 3 brothers, Elmo Conner, John Conner, and Willard Conner.
Her survivors include her daughter, Melisa R. (Tom) Searcy of Lawrenceville, GA., 2 sons, Danny R. Rogers and Phillip W. Rogers, both of Shuqualak, Ms; a grandson Thomas Lloyd Searcy; a sister, Erah Conner of Preston, MS and brother, Lawrence Conner of Shuqualak, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
