Betty Stennis Mckay

A private graveside service for Betty Stennis McKay, 78, of Macon MS was held Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon. Dr. Andy Pearson officiated at the service. Mrs. McKay passed away at Mississippi Care Center in Dekalb following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. McKay was born on June 22, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Jessie P. Stennis of Macon. She graduated from Macon High School in 1951 and attended Millsaps College in Jackson before graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1955. While at Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.
Mrs. McKay worked for Delta Airlines for 32 years as a reservationist before retiring to Macon in 1988.
She was preceded in death b y her parents and her husband, William B. McKay of Doraville, GA. She is survived by one sister: Mary Stennis Terry of Homewood, Ala. and by one brother: Hardy R. Stennis of Macon. She also leaves behind three nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces, seven great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces.
