Sandra L. Clark. 62, of Shuqualak, MS passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. after a long illness. Mrs. Clark, a Neshoba County native, was the daughter of the
Sandra L. Clark. 62, of Shuqualak, MS passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. after a long illness. Mrs. Clark, a Neshoba County native, was the daughter of the late Martin Homer and Katie Adcock Burks. Tragically, her mother died when Mrs. Clark was only 9 years old. Her father moved his family to Macon, where he married Suzanne Reed, who became the mother who would help raise Mrs. Clark until she was grown. She was wife of Willie T. (Bud) Clark of Shuqualak and the mother of Christy Powe of West Point, MS and Ronald Wayne (Beverly), Chris Allen (Brandi), both of Macon, MS. She also leaves to mourn her passing 7 grandchildren; one sister: Bobbie Thressa Holmes of Pascagoula, MS; and one brother: Herschel Burks of Louisville, MS. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother: Nathaniel Burks.
Mrs. Clark’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday July 19, 2011 from Butler Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak Ms with Bro. Burlon Commer, Bro. Allen Eaves, and Bro. Gerald Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Butler Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening beginning at 6:00P.M. at the church and Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. until service time. Sandra L. Clark was born in Philadelphia, MS. and attended school at Arlington in Neshoba County. She married Bud Clark on June 12, 1965 and they made their home in the Butler Community of Noxubee County, MS near Shuqualak. She worked at the Shuqualak Glove Factory for 17 years. She was a member of Butler Pentecostal Church and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing the home-grown vegetables from her family’s garden. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife and mother to her three children, as well as a proud and doting grandmother to her 7 grandchildren, which she stopped working at the factory so that she could take care of them. She was a faithful neighbor who was always ready to lend a hand or prepare a meal for a friend in need. She was very active in her community and was a strong supporter of the local Volunteer Fire Department there.
