Funeral services for Miss Ethel Elizabeth Trimble, 99, of Macon, MS will be held Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. from Elon Baptist Church in Macon with Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Oddfelllows Cemetery in Macon. A period of visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at the church just prior to the service. Miss Trimble passed away Friday June 24 2011 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS.

Miss Trimble was born in the Elon Community of Noxubee County on July 10, 1911 to the late Robert Miles and Clemie Eiland Trimble. She graduated from Macon High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women for two years. She received her diploma as a Registered Nurse from Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA. and her diploma as a Nurse Anesthetist from Barnes Hospital School of Anesthesia in St. Louis, MO. She returned to Highland Hospital where she was a Nurse Anesthetist for seventeen years. She then moved back to Noxubee County to be near her family and served as anesthetist at Noxubee General Hospital for twenty-five years until her retirement. She was a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She was a member of the Macon Pilot Club and Elon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Robert Louis Trimble, and one neice; Jane Trimble Price.
She is survived by one sister: Ruth Trimble Sparkman of Macon, MS ; two nieces: Clemie McGee of Macon, MS and Ethel S. Troyanek of Gulf Shores, AL. and one nephew: Lake Trimble of Millport, AL. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
