Mrs. Louise Boykin McCrary, 79, of Macon, Ms passed gently away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, MS after a brief illness. Her funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 12 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Greg Duncan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Moore Cemetery near Macon, MS. A visitation for all family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has requested no flowers, please. Memorials are requested to the charity of your choice. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is entrusted with directing the services.
Mrs. McCrary was born on February 11, 1931 in Noxubee County, MS to the late Chess Featherston and Ora Faye Harrison Moore. She graduated from Brooksville High School .She was a longtime resident of Columbus MS and was employed in the delicatessen at Kroger of Columbus for 18 years until her retirement. She moved back to Noxubee County in 2005 to live near her sons. Mrs. McCrary attended Calvary Baptist Church in Macon. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved visiting with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, and by her husband, Henry McCrary.
She leaves to celebrate her home-going one daughter: Joy Stockdale (Davie) of Columbus, MS and two sons: William Kenneth “Kenny” Boykin (Patricia) and Charles Richard “Ricky” Boykin, both of Macon, MS Also left behind are two sisters: Thelma Abrams of West Point, MS and Nan Hammack of Columbus, MS; as well as two brothers: Chess Moore, Jr. and David Moore both of Sevierville, TN. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
