Leona Clark Jones

Mrs. Leona Clark Jones, 65, of Shuqualak, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2010, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. Her funeral service will be Friday, January 10, at 10:00 A.M. from Soul Harbor Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak, Ms with Bro. Gerald Butler and Bro. Steven Lockley officiating. Interment will follow at Pinetucky Cemetery near Shuqualak. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the Church. Any memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children P.O. Box 746 Columbus, MS 39703. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was born on December 6, 1945 in Turkey Creek, Louisiana to the late Robert and Bessie Messer Clark. She was a graduate of Pine Prairie High School. She married Ervin Jones of Shuqualak, MS on June 9, 1967. She worked for H&H Lure Company for 25 years and then as a sitter for the aged and infirm. She also worked at the Best Western Motel in Macon, MS for several years. Mrs. Jones was a member of Dekalb Christ Assembly Church. She loved flowers and working in her yard. She also enjoyed looking at photographs. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
She is survived by her husband: Ervin Jones of Shuqualak, MS and four sons: Ervin Jones(Ann) of Ackerman, MS; Lester Jones of Shuqualak, MS; Jamey Jones (Lisa)of Long Beach, MS; and Kevin Jones (Carrie) of Prattville, Ala. She also leaves behind three sisters: Molly Gautreaux of Pine Prairie, LA:; Sue Williams of Turkey Creek, LA; and Mary Wrenn of Ponchatoula, LA as well as one brother: Robert Earl Clark of Ft. Worth, TX.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Rebekah Jones, Ervin Ray Jones, Chloe Jones, Summer Leona Jones, Seryna Jones, Skylar Jones, Aidan Jones, Ethan Jones, Leah Jones, and Cassie Jones.
